Description

Scarf, working in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council, is hosting three consecutive community resilience workshops in Inverbervie. The main aim of the workshops is to create a long term resilience plan for the community, through a variety of facilitated discussions and interactive sessions, as well as shared knowledge and information sessions, the participants of the workshops will work together to come up with a plan which will enhance resilience to climate change in their community.

Objectives

The main aims of the workshops are to facilitate conversations within communities to enhance resilience to climate change. Objectives of the workshops will be to:

  • Improve Understanding within the community of climate disadvantage
  • Improve energy efficiency, with regards to behaviour change, services, products and funding available to reduce costs and emissions.
  • Climate change adaption – how could the impacts of climate change affect the people, places, services and priorities that matter most to the community
  • Community Resilience development plan – such as food growing,community-owned energy, emergency preparedness in extreme weather events – identify funding streams to support these opportunities.

*As the workshops tie together, you must be available to attend all three sessions - you only have to register to attend the first session to be signed up for all three.

** Individuals who live or work in the St Cyrus area are welcome to take part in the Inverbervie workshops.
