About this event

Community • City & Town

Groundwork Greater Manchester are working with people and organisations across Rochdale to understand how people can come together during emergency events (like flooding, heat waves and power cuts) to ensure the networks and support are in place to keep people safe and connected.

In these sessions, we want to hear from you about your experiences. We will explore key questions about Rochdale's community response and resilience in the face of floods, heatwaves and other emergencies. Together we will look at:

- Community resilience – what is it and why is it important?

- What has worked well in Rochdale in the past and what hasn’t

- What support you and your community need in an emergency

- Are there any barriers to accessing help or being heard

- How we can work together to build resilience

This is for anyone based in Rochdale who has been affected directly, or is interested in learning more about what we can do as individuals and as communities in the face of these events.

By joining, you will help us to create a model for what works well and what doesn't and help us to build support packages and training that best meet the needs of local people.

We will send out a Zoom link to participants who sign up closer to the time.
