Community walk, Blackbird and Greater Leys, Saturday 10 January

Community walk, Blackbird and Greater Leys, Saturday 10 January

By The Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust

Overview

Join BBOWT Community Network for an exploration of wildlife spaces in Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys

Spindleberry park in Blackbird Leys needs a bit of love!

It is a beautiful area, with a pond, stream, semi-mature woodland and pathways leading out to open grass areas. With some shared effort and the support of local groups and residents, it could return to being a valuable haven for people and wildlife at the heart of Blackbird and Greater Leys.

Please Join BBOWT Community Network, nature expert Nicole Clough, local residents and Parish Councillor David Newman, for a guided walk around Spindleberry park and other Blackbird and Greater Leys parks. The aim of our community walk is to bring everyone together to explore wildlife havens, and to see how local volunteers could get involved in maintaining the area.

We will meet at The Leys Pool and Leisure Centre, and walk from there. During this friendly, slow paced, morning there will be lots of opportunities to discuss your own green spaces with Nicole and to meet other local nature lovers.
