Community Wellbeing Meets: Guided Munro
One of the most recognisable mountains in Scotland, the iconic pyramid of Buachaille Etive Mòr stands sentinel at the head of Glen Coe. Starting at the Altnafeadh carpark, our route ascends via a scramble up Coire na Tulaich to our first Munro, Stob Dearg (1022m). We then head along the majestic spine of “The Buachaille” toward Stob na Bròige (956m) before descending and following the beautiful Lairig Gartain, “valley of the mountain pass”, toward Altnafeadh. Distance 13km (8 miles); time approx. 7-9 hours depending on conditions. This walk requires clients to be fit and confident in the hills. Walking boots and a waterproof jacket and trousers are essential. Walking poles are recommended.
This is an opportunity to meet new people, get some exercise, and learn more about the benefits of spending time outdoors. You will be led by our friendly and knowledgable International Mountain Leader, Dr Richard Phillips.
Please note this activity will be dependent on weather. Partipcants will receive more information nearer the time. If anyone needs transport then this can be arranged and a pick up point will be identified. Just let us know when you book your ticket. There are local options for accomodation.
