Compact for west Cheshire

The new Compact for west Cheshire sets out common values and principles shared between organisations in both the community and public sectors and looks at how key actions can be delivered.

A task group was set up across Cheshire West and Chester Council’s services in 2020, working alongside the community sector through representatives of the Sector Leadership Group (SLG), Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), to develop a new Compact that is fit for purpose for everyone. The Compact was consulted on through meetings, workshops and online comments on the draft document.

The new Compact builds on the strengths of the previous version in a shorter document, with a real focus on agreeing joint principles and outcomes from joint working. Supporting documents will be developed where needed following the agreement of the Compact to support its rollout.

Unlike its predecessor, it is intended the Compact will be reviewed on an annual basis, with achievements recognised and learning used in updated versions of the agreement before a more extensive review in 2024 should it be needed.

The Compact will be formally launched at this online event at 10.30am on Wednesday 3 November
