The Museum of the Order of St John is one of London's hidden treasures, with a millennium of history. The concert will be a musical reflection on the Order of St John and its history of caring for the sick in war and in peace. The first half will be early music by Hildegard von Bingen, Thomas Morley, Thomas Weelkes, John Wilbye, Heinrich Schütz, and Henry Purcell, and the second half will include haunting contemporary memorial pieces by David Lang, Healey Willan, Matthew Martin and Cecilia McDowall.
