About this event

This course will deepen understanding of compassion as a vital tool for healthcare professionals in building connections with traumatised clients, patients, and their families. It also addresses the issue of compassion fatigue, often referred to as 'the cost of caring,' which can lead to exhaustion from working in high-pressure caregiving environments.

You will explore the causes of compassion fatigue, its impact on services and their work, and learn how to recognise and address it. Understanding the signs and symptoms, as well as strategies for alleviating and restoring compassion, is essential for every healthcare professional's toolkit, as compassion fatigue has significant consequences for staff, patients, and healthcare organisations.
