Event description

Description

Hello fellow Therapists,

Come and join us for a weekend retreat and contribute to developing a safe space to learn how to be more compassionate and less self-critical of ourselves. As therapists, we are committed to helping those in mental distress, alleviate their own suffering: This can be both rewarding and challenging as we engage with their stories of distress, pain and suffering. So, keeping ourselves well and resilient is vital as the way we treat ourselves and how we speak to ourselves in our minds affects our mood and wellbeing.

This retreat offers space to be with fellow therapists and work together on our personal practice to enhance our compassionate minds and personal wellbeing. Being self-compassionate improves mental resilience, self-acceptance, calmness and wellness.

The retreat practices and theoretical framework is based on Compassion Focused CFT (Gilbert, 2009, 2014;) and the practices of developed in Mindful Compassion (Gilbert & Choden, 2013).

Some knowledge of CFT would be helpful to those who want to attend, but we will visit the core teachings through the retreat as we focus on self- practice.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Dr Deborah Lee & Dr Mary Welford
