Part of our ongoing collaboration with the Sheffield Spanish Intercambio group, celebrating Spanish language cinema.

Competencia oficial (Official Competition) is a Spanish-language black comedy-drama film directed by Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn, from a screenplay by Duprat, Cohn and Andrés Duprat. It stars Penélope Cruz, Antonio Banderas and Oscar Martínez.

On his 80th birthday, Humberto Suárez, an ageing multi-millionaire decides to hire a famous filmmaker to help make a smash hit film.
