Competency 7: Mobility and Exercise (in person event)

Competency 7 training for NHS Foundation Trust Band 3, Community Rehabilitation Assistant or NCC Grade 2, Reablement worker roles.

The Pathway 1 Aligned Competency Framework

The Competency Framework sets out and defines the key knowledge and skills required for an individual to be able to undertake the roles of a Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Band 3, Community Rehabilitation Assistant or Nottinghamshire County Council Grade 2, Reablement Worker.

In line with the Competency Framework, these training sessions—developed and delivered by Nottinghamshire Healthcare Trust and Nottinghamshire County Council—aim to share knowledge, deepen your understanding of the competencies, and support your ongoing development.


Competency 7: Mobility and Exercise includes:

A: Demonstrate an understanding of normal walking patterns and how to facilitate these with safe handling

B: Understand different weight bearing statuses and how it may affect peoples’ mobility

C: Have a good knowledge of how to safely use walking aids and know when walking aids need to be adjusted, re-fitted or re-assessed

D: Understand the individual’s current transfers and mobility

E: Observe safe step and stairs practice with the individual
