Event description
Come along we as we share the findings from our experiment on automating legionella compliance

About this event

At the end of July 2021 the Proptech Innovators Network and Plexus Innovation undertook a DINLab with three housing providers to explore how remote legionella compliance testing and management of water systems would work.

What was this lab all about?

Automating compliance testing is an area where housing providers want to understand more. Traditional in person legionella monthly testing may enable compliance, but is there a better way to do the testing and management of the water systems in the buildings managed?

The purpose of this DINLab was to test out whether there was a better way, using automation in multiple occupancy buildings, including offices to deliver a better understanding of our assets.

What was in it for lab participants?

• The remote capture and management of underlying water system issues requiring intervention, including failed or failing assets.

• Alerts to taps left running or system leaks, calculating the savings that this creates in water usage, environmental carbon impact and repairs not required.

• Alerts in real time to potential scald risk issues.

• The impact on residents and homes where access is no longer required in person.

• Tracking flushing and enabling savings in time, waste and cost associated with carrying it out.

• Calculating the return on the investment of the GUARDIAN® technology.

So how did it go?

Well you'll just have to attend this DINLab feedback session where we will share with you:

  • What did we learn around automating legionella compliance testing
  • What did it confirm, what did it challenge by way of current approach
  • How it supports the move to net zero carbon
  • Did we learn anything we didn't know
  • Has it helped providers take a different view of the way they deliver services
  • Have they been concentrating on the right service standards in the right areas
  • Will they be embracing this technology as a result

We will have speakers from Plexus Innovation, PIN as well as the lab participants themselves. In addition we have also brought together a panel of sector leaders to debate how these findings may influence the future direction of compliance testing and delivery of efficiencies . Our panellists include:

  • Emma Jorgenson, Compliance Officer, Believe Housing
  • Tony Cahill, Executive Director Property, Livv Housing
