Learning Outcomes and Objectives:
By the end of the day the attendees will have a comprehensive understanding of Compulsive Hoarding, from understanding how to make an appropriate assessment of the client’s presenting issue. Understand how they have developed their personal style of person-object relations and its progression into the current hoard.
Attendees will then learn how to develop an effective care plan, including risk assessment. Be aware of comorbidities, and how multiple agencies working might impact upon the client work. We will explore the integrative approach and how it is best used when working with these clients.
Finally, we will end the day by putting everything we have explored and learned together by group case study exercises.
About The Speaker:
Madison-Amy WEBB is a BACP accredited counsellor (MBACP) AND vOLUNTARY rEGISTER and Mental Health trainer. Madison works in private practice and is counselling coordinator of a young persons counselling service. She has had considerable experience exploring her own experience of being in the world, and supporting clients with their own explorations.
"Because of my familiarity of having lived with this condition, and having worked with others experiencing this challenging disorder, it's my believe that the current trend of treatment interventions i.e. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) serves as little more than temporary relief. The reality is often that the causation is completely unaddressed. We also need to question our society's attitude to possessions vs. what our relationship with possessions says about our Psyche." - Madison-Amy Webb
Who is the workshop intended for?
