Event description

Description

Only for students on the Computer and Communications Programme (DL)

This will be a great academic and social event!

There will be a rich mix of staff and student presentations, panel debates, plenty of opportunity to meet and network with academic staff and fellow students.

You may wish to participate by presenting a research paper that will count as 15 credits towards your degree. It requires a 30 minute presentation supported by Powerpoint Slides followed by a short, 5000 word research paper (to be submitted by 31 August 2018).

Or you may wish to present on your dissertation topic and receive informal feedback to help with your dissertation later.

If you are not used to public presentations, don’t worry the atmosphere will be relaxed and supportive and the exercise is enjoyable, not (too) stressful!

If you wish to present please contact Michelle Dean (m.dean@qmul.ac.uk) no later than 12 November.

Otherwise just come along and enjoy the discussions!

If you are attending both days please register for both dates. All students must register including those that are presenting.

Presentation Topics:

  • Social media for business: protection of confidential information and intellectual property rights

  • Legitimate interests as a condition for legitimate processing of personal data under the Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC) and the General Data Protection Regulation (2016/679)

  • Universalizing Broadband without a Universal Service Fund

  • Privacy Concerns In Relation To Machine Learning Software
