'Coursework Assessments for GCSE Computing J275'
Pleckgate School, Pleckgate Rd, Blackburn BB1 8QA
Hosts - Alan O'Donohoe & Paula Dean
The aim of this meeting is to support teachers of GCSE Computing and Computer Science with the assessment and moderation of Controlled Assessments (CAs) for OCR GCSE Computing J275.
Teachers with very little previous experience of teaching GCSE Computing/Computer Science are also very welcome. We invite those attending to bring some of their own students' work (if available) along to the meeting to support development of the whole group, this could include other exam specifications.
We will also briefly explore some of the resources available to support the teaching of OCR GCSE Computer Science J276 including PG Online, Hodder, Cambridge, Axsied, ComputerScienceUK and the J276 MOOC. Alan has developed a flipped-learning resource called J276 MOOC to support the teaching of GCSE Computer Science and will model/demonstrate how this works, more in this blog post 'The MOOC has landed'.
This meeting is most suitable for teachers of GCSE Computer Science. There are other events in the region to suit other audiences and development needs, more at: http://community.computingatschool.org.uk/events
