Led by Peter Mattock, author of Visible Maths and Conceptual Maths, this session will look at how to approach the teaching of concepts in mathematics to support your pupils as they learn about mathematical ideas. We will share practical strategies for identifying and teaching key mathematical structures that all learners should know about to enable them to follow mathematical processes with confidence and deepen their understanding of maths.
This session is open to any educators hoping to gain insights or strategies for teaching maths concepts to their learners. Please note, although there will be examples of secondary maths content, the broad ideas covered in the session are applicable to anyone involved in the teaching of mathematics.
