We are delighted to welcome back well-known North East harpist Sarah Paterson to the Old Low Light on 20 September 2025 at 1pm.
Sarah, who lives in North Yorkshire, has performed at the Old Low Light twice before, but this will be her first Saturday afternoon concert with us and we are sure she will bring the afternoon to life with a moving performance.
Tickets at £10pp can be booked online above.
Sarah was inspired to play the harp aged six after seeing an episode of a well-known children’s TV show featuring the instrument. She later studied at the Royal Northern College of Music, during which time she was selected for the BBC Philharmonic Professional Experience Scheme, as principal harpist in the resident orchestra at the Cantiere Internazionale D’Arte Montepulciano and to perform at the Bridgewater Hall and Wigmore Hall.
In 2008 she was honoured to be one of the 60 harpists to play for the then HRH Prince Charles’ 60th birthday celebrations at the Royal Opera House.
She now enjoys an eclectic freelance career and also teaches the harp. She is a keen orchestral player, an interest cultivated by three years in the National Children’s Orchestra and regularly works with Orchestra North East.
(Programme to follow).
