About this event
On Thursday 30th June at 7.30pm St. Mary's Cathedral will be hosting a special concert by the internationally renowned classical guitarist Giulio Tampalini, with proceeds in support of the Ukraine.
The first half of the concert will feature arrangements of beautiful pieces by the Italian composers Ennio Morricone and Ludovico Einaudi. In the second half Giulio will be joined by the Newcastle Guitar Orchestra to continue the Italian theme, with Vivaldi's Concerto for Lute in D Major, and the Italian Concerto by J.S. Bach. The concert will also feature a special performance ofthe Holberg Suite by Edvard Grieg, in fond memory of the Norwegian guitarist Arne Brattland.
This will be a unique opportunity to hear a most wonderful and charismatic performer. He has recorded more than 25 CDs, and is a Warner Classics recording artist. Find more information at www.giuliotampalini.it.
