This two day conference is organised by the University of Leeds', School of History's Research Cluster “War and Peace”, in combination with our new MA in “War & Strategy”. The first day of the Conference will showcase the diverse research undertake by our Postgraduate students, followed by a open lecture given by General James Cowan, CEO of the Halo Trust. The second day will particularly honour John Gooch's research, former Head of School; namely Strategic Studies, this history of both World Wars and especially Italian history. A number of notable speakers will be part of the Conference, among them Sir Hew Strachan (Oxford/St. Andrews), MacGregor Knox (LSE), Richard Overy (Exeter), Nir Arielli (School of History), and others.
