The Diagnosis, Screening and Treatment of Pathological Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip: from the newborn to the adult.

About this Event

Professor Robin Paton works at the Trauma and Orthopaedics Department, East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. Robin does research in Orthopedic Surgery, with a sub interest in Children's Orthopedic surgery. The current multi-centre project is the 'BOSS study.' His main research interest is screening in DDH. This has led to a PhD in this subject. This area of research is widely cited including in national guidelines.

Conference programme includes:

Screening in DDH; Closed harness treatment of DDH; Surgical Treatment of DDH : options in children; Anaesthetic considerations in DDH; Symposium of pathological cases of childhood DDH; Surgical treatment of DDH in the child: results of a twelve-year surgical series; Pelvic osteotomies in the adult with DDH; Treatment of DDH in the adolescent and adult: arthroplasty and the role of arthroscopy.
