Description

This conference offers a unique opportunity for all social scientists and social science students at Edinburgh to acquire some general knowledge of the history of sociology that will help them to define British sociology’s place in academia and to better understand how it acquired the distinct characteristics that it has today. The event is open to all who are simply keen to learn more, regardless of knowledge or experience. It’s also a rare opportunity to meet renowned sociologists and historians from the UK, USA and France who will present papers on various aspects of the nineteenth and twentieth century history of sociology in Britain.
