What are the aims of the course?
A community and / or family learning programme designed to improve your employability skills, your health and your well-being by giving you the opportunity to learn in a friendly setting.
What can I achieve by the end of the course?
You will be able to communicate more effectively, feel more confident and clearly identify future learning pathways that will help to improve your employability, health and well-being and family / community relationships.
What official qualification will I gain?
This course does not lead to an external qualification, but you will make progress towards your individual learning goal(s) and this will be recorded by your tutor.
How will I be taught and assessed?
You will receive an individual learning plan at the start of your programme that will identify what it is that you hope to achieve from the course. You will receive impartial advice and guidance throughout your course on what your next steps might be. You will be given opportunities to reflect upon what you have learned. Assessment will be undertaken by the tutor, and will be on-going throughout the course.
What skills or knowledge will I already need to have?
You will not need to bring any prior skills or knowledge to this course. To get the most from your experience, you should come with an open mind and a willingness to share your opinions (when appropriate) and also to learn from the other learners on your course.
What will I need to bring with me to the course?
It may be necessary to bring some resources with you to some of the courses (e.g. flower arranging and baby massage) but if this is the case your tutor or a colleague from Inspire will be in touch with you in a timely fashion before the start of your course.
What will I be able to do next, after my course has finished?
The next steps following your course will be discussed with you at the outset, throughout your sessions and at the end of your course. You will have access to impartial careers guidance and support and sign-posting to appropriate 'next steps'.
Will any additional help be available if I need it?
Should you require additional help and support in order to successfully complete your course, this will be assessed at the outset, and appropriate steps will be taken to make sure that this extra provision is in place.
