This half day workshop involves a combination of bike skills coaching and mindset skills coaching to show you how to intentionally shift into a confidence mindset and get in flow. This is the LEVEL 1 workshop for those new or relatively new to off road mountain biking or who are getting back into mountain biking after a period away from it.
Is this Course for You?
This course is especially designed for women who are just getting into or have recently got into mountain biking. You should be confident to ride your bike on traffic free roads. We will start out by taking it gently to and see what everyone is comfortable and then decide what trails to ride based on that.
It is extremely important to me to make sure that you do not feel out of your depth or under pressure to ride anything you don’t feel comfortable with at any time. You are strongly encouraged to say immediately if this is how you feel at any time on the day.

Rider Experience: Getting Started with Mountain Biking
Type of Trail: Gentle gradient forest tracks and trails
Fitness Level: Able to ride for 3 hours with regular stops on reasonably gentle uphill and downhill gradients
Classroom session: not at this time due to COVID restrictions
Food included: no
Bike hire included: no, but local expert bike mechanics Douglas Carchrie - Big Mountain Scotland or Mark Sinclair at Bike Fixer can help you get your bike in order if you contact either of them in reasonable time before hand
Cancellation: If The School of Flow needs to cancel the event needs to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions or COVID restrictions, you will receive a full refund via Eventbrite (current COVID restrictions permit this course to go ahead even if we are in Tier 4)
What You Will Learn:
Technique Skills: checking your bike set up and safety, correct body position, effective braking technique, negotiating bumps and loose ground
Flow State Skills: Mastering awareness, shifting from fear to flow, power of intention.
