Frequently asked questions

Who is this session for?

This taster session is designed for newly qualified social workers (NQSW) who are about to begin their professional role. It’s especially helpful if you want to feel more confident, grounded, and prepared.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself, an open mind, and a notebook or journal if you’d like to capture reflections. A pen and your workbook (provided) will also be useful.

Will I have to share personal information?

Sharing is always optional. You’ll be invited to reflect, but you decide what you’re comfortable sharing with others. Psychological safety and respect are central to the session.

What if I feel nervous about attending?

That’s completely normal. Many participants feel nervous at first. The session is designed to be supportive, calm, and inclusive. We’ll start with a gentle grounding activity to help you feel at ease.

How interactive will the session be?

It’s a balance of short presentations, individual reflection exercises, and optional small group discussions. You can engage at the level that feels right for you.

How long is the workshop?

The session lasts 60 minutes. Each section is focused and practical, so you’ll leave with tools you can use immediately.

Will I get materials to take away?

Yes! You’ll receive a workbook with reflection prompts to support your journey beyond the session.

What if I have more questions after the workshop?

You’ll be given contact details and resources for further support. You can also revisit your workbook at any time as a personal guide.
