Event description

Description

Do you find the thought of talking about Jesus to friends, neighbours, classmates or colleagues daunting?

Do you sometimes find yourself thinking “what if I say something that makes God look bad?” Or wondering what happens if they raise a challenging question or objection to which you’re unable to respond?

Well, you’re not alone! In the fast-paced, skeptical and secular culture in which we live, most of us find evangelism a bit daunting. That’s why Solas is partnering with St Paul’s Salisbury for a Confident Christianity conference. We will help you become confident and empowered to talk about Jesus more naturally, engage in evangelism that persuades people, and feel equipped to answer the questions of your friends.

The day will be divided into snappy talks from four leading speakers with the opportunity to take part in a question panel at the end.

Andy Bannister
“How to talk about Jesus without looking like an idiot”
“Are we matter or do we matter: why what you believe about
God changes everything else”

Ed Shaw
“Why does God care who I sleep with?”
“Nothing to be afraid of: why we need to talk about death
more”

Andy Moore
“Is your faith just a psychological crutch?”
“Christ’s resurrection: hope grounded on evidence”

Andy Kind
“Hidden in plain sight: why Jesus is the best explanation of
what you know about yourself”
“Smoke and mirrors: why Humanism offers absolutely no
hope”

The conference will run from 9am until 5pm with a one hour break for lunch. You are welcome to visit one of the range of local eateries or we can have a tasty packed lunch ready for you from our friends a the sustainability CIC 'Pantry Partnership'.

There is limited free parking at the St Paul's site, priority will be given to those with disabilities. We are five minutes walk from Salisbury station, several bus stops and Salisbury Central Public Car Park.
