Confronting HBA in Policy, Technology, and Collective Action

IKWRO – Women’s Rights Organisation, in collaboration with VISION, invites you to a full-day, in-person conference exploring urgent responses to Honour-Based Abuse (HBA) in today's rapidly evolving world. We will be exploring the current challenges and emerging opportunities in tackling Honour-Based Abuse through policy, media, and community resilience.

Through three dynamic panels, the conference will examine our flagship campaign “Crime, Not Culture”, the role of technology and media in the context of HBA, and how survivors and the VAWG sector are driving change. Attendees can expect a day of expert-led discussions, powerful survivor testimony, networking, and collaborative thinking to drive forward practical solutions and collective action.

We are bringing together survivor advocates, academics, frontline practitioners, and policymakers to critically analyse the current landscape and explore strategies for meaningful change. Together we’ll ask:

• How do we ensure HBA is recognised and treated as a crime, not excused as culture?

• In what ways do technology and media perpetuate, expose, or combat abuse?

• How are survivors and communities building resilience and leading systemic change?
