Connect 5 consists of three separate half day online sessions, each building on the previous one.

Session 1 focuses on one-off conversations: Helping someone better understand mental health, mental wellbeing & mental illness by giving brief wellbeing support & information.

Session 2 focuses on longer conversations: Supporting someone to find ways to help themselves by developing shared understanding of their situation & wellbeing needs & offering interventions.

Session 3 focuses on ongoing conversations: Supporting someone to improve their mental health and resilience over time by using appropriate tools to motivate & empower them to make the necessary changes for this to happen.

You choose how far you work through the programme depending on how relevant each session is to your role. Remember the training is prgressive so only book on session 3 if you have already attended sessions 1 & 2.

The training is based on two evidenced-based models for understanding stress and distress and supporting wellbeing – The Cognitive Behavioural & 5 Ways to Wellbeing Models.
