Event description

Description

Diamond have kindly opened their doors and will be giving you the opportunity to learn about what they do as an organisation and more specifically on campus. The event will include an introductory talk from the Diamond team followed by a facilities tour and networking opportunity. Light refreshments will be served.

Diamond Light Source is the UK’s synchrotron. It works like a giant microscope, harnessing the power of electrons to produce bright light that scientists can use to study anything from fossils to jet engines to viruses and vaccines.

Diamond is one of the most advanced scientific facilities in the world, and its pioneering capabilities are helping to keep the UK at the forefront of scientific research. Over 3000 researchers from both academia and industry use Diamond to conduct experiments, assisted by approximately 500 staff.

Connect Harwell Nxt Gen is a multi-disciplinary programme for early-career professionals and students at Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. As a central hub, we signpost and organise events and opportunities to support integration into Harwell Campus life. Our mission is to foster innovation and collaboration at Harwell Campus through nurturing and supporting our early-career professionals.
