About this event

Connect with Local Organisations at SPG’s Artist Networking Evening

Sculpture Placement Group (SPG) warmly invites you to an evening of networking with local organisations, charities, and community groups who are keen to engage with their local arts community.

This informal and friendly event offers a unique opportunity to introduce yourself and your work, build meaningful connections, and explore possibilities for future commissions, collaborations, or artwork loans.

What to expect: The event will follow a “speed networking” format, with artists and organisation representatives paired for short conversations, rotating every few minutes. Expect inspiring discussions, new contacts, and potential partnerships.

This event also marks the relaunch of SPG Loan - our sculpture rental initiative connecting artists with organisations interested in borrowing artwork directly. This project creates valuable exposure and income for artists, while helping ensure artworks aren’t left in storage.

If you have sculptural work you’d like to make available for loan, please upload it to the SPG Loan Catalogue ahead of the event.Don’t work in sculpture? You’re still very welcome. Feel free to bring documentation (images, portfolio, etc.) of your work to share with others.

Advice for the Event

  • You will have 5 mins for each encounter so have a think about how you’d like to introduce yourself and your work in advance

  • You may want to bring a small sample of your work with in image format, either in a portfolio, phone or tablet

  • It is useful to share information about work you have done with organisations before and the sorts of services you could offer such as workshops, talks and potential artworks for loan

  • If you have worked with other organisations in the past it would be good to share some examples of what came out of this for the organisation. Some examples may be team building, positive feedback from service users, ongoing partnerships etc

  • Have a think and take a quick note of details of anyone that you would like to meet again as this information will be compiled at the end of the event

  • Register an artwork(s) on SPG Loan’s online catalogue if appropriate (for 3D works)
