Event description
Learn how to increase community connectedness amongst the lonely and isolated. This event is part of the Festival of Social Science 2019.

About this Event

Discover how to help connect the lonely and isolated back with their communities. Join local authority workers and third sector organisations for an insightful seminar, as researchers present the Connected Communities EU-funded project.

Suffolk County Council leads 6 other local authorities in the UK and France as they embark on the 4-year Connected Communities project, designed specifically to increase connectedness amongst the lonely and isolated.

This event will introduce you to the experts dedicated to sharing research-based insights into social prescribing. It is hosted by Dr Gina Yannitell Reinhardt from the Department of Government at the University of Essex and is part of the Festival of Social Science. Local authority or public sector workers, particularly those who are responsible for making decisions about community wellbeing, will find this event enlightening.

*There will be a small amount of money available to help attendees with travel expenses. This will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. To make an application for a reimbursement of your travel expenses please contact the organiser.

** Complimentary tea and coffee will be served to all attendees and a networking lunch will take place from 12:15 - 13:45. Please register your place during the registration process.
