Think big, go global
Businesses of all sizes and descriptions throughout Cornwall are being invited to think big and go global at our FREE conference being held at Healeys Cyder Farm, near Newquay, on Thursday 10 November.
The impressive line-up of speakers includes local entrepreneurs Jodine Boothby, founder of teething specialist business Gummee, Toby Parkins, chief executive of expanding software development company Headforwards, Will Coleman, the man behind the hugely successful Man Engine phenomenon, Jonathon Jones, Managing Director of Tregothnan Teas, Jules Aldred, Founder of Rockfish Wellies, Marc Ward, Managing Director of Fat Willy’s Surf Shack and Julian Hughes, Rodda’s export executive.
Joining them are Department of Farming and Rural Affairs Minister George Eustice MP, who will deliver the day’s keynote speech, Stewart Ferguson, Head of Research at the China-Britain Business Council, Miles Carden, from Cornwall’s Aerohub, international trade consultant Linda Middleton-Jones, Barclays senior international manager Martin Preater, London Heathrow’s Head of Cargo Nick Platts and representatives from the Department for International Trade, Cornwall Council, the Local Enterprise Partnership and foreign currency specialist TorFX.
The day-long event is being divided into two halves: breakfast and the morning sessions, which will primarily focus on businesses that are already trading beyond Cornish borders and lunch and the afternoon sessions, which are aimed at those who need help getting started. Delegates can also choose to make the most of the sessions on offer and stay all day.
The conference is the first of its kind in the county. Selling abroad – or even over the Tamar – isn’t just about goods and products, it’s about services and concepts too. If you’ve got a website, you’ve got a global presence anyway, so this event is all about looking beyond local and regional markets and thinking bigger.
Attendance at the seminars is FREE and can be booked here. To book your place at the BIG Breakfast or Connected Lunch, please click the green button at the top of this page.
