QUESTIONS? Check out the blog with all up-to-date information. Contact Katherine with any questions or look at FAQ below.

What is the format of the clinic?

Peggy is creative and sensitive in the way that she works with her riders during a clinic. There is no fixed schedule. Riders and horses work individually and in groups with Peggy who determines the optimum format and number of sessions for each combination to enhance their learning experience. Peggy works on exercises with each combination which they perfect while she moves to work with another combination and then returns to fine-tune the work. Peggy also focuses on the organisation of the rider, whether on the ground or in the saddle, and how to find 'neutral pelvis'. The type of work done depends on the needs of each rider and horse and how they transform during the work and how much they can absorb. Everything is designed so that participants can process new material and learn effectively.

What is the point of the demo?

Peggy will outline the principal themes of her work, encourage the audience to experience the way that their own posture affects that of their horse and illustrate how her work benefits the performance and wellbeing of both horse and rider. You will have the chance to ask Peggy about her methods, understand how they vary from traditional methods and how you will be able to achieve your goals more easily using her approach. The demo provides a summary of Connected Riding®. It is a good starting point for newcomers to this work and a helpful reminder for the old-hands.

ALSO Jim Masterson will join Peggy on the Demo Day and will show how to release tension in a horse. He and Peggy will work together in demonstrating how their work can be combined to help a horse find freedom and self-carriage in groundwork and under saddle. This is an outstanding opportunity to see these two great masters working together.

May I speak to Peggy and Jim?

At the demo both Peggy and Jim will take questions. At the clinic all participants will get a chance to interact with Peggy, whether you are an auditor or rider (this is why the clinic has limited numbers). Bring your questions to ask Peggy’s advice ... there will be plenty of opportunities to consult Peggy. Anyone in the auditorium is kindly requested to watch quietly, not interrupt during lessons and to keep their questions until Peggy asks.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Public Transport is intermittent so ideally travel by car. Parking is available near the covered arena at the venue (and will be clearly marked).

Directions to the event?

Detailed directions will be emailed to each participant.

Food / Snacks

Food will be available for purchase on the Demo Day or bring your own snacks. During the clinic, either bring your own food or you may buy a light lunch on-site.

Those staying at Trealy Farm may book breakfast with their accommodation - please contact Ruth at Trealy Farm. There are various local establishments that serve evening meals.

Demo-Day participants are asked not to walk about the farm but to restrict themselves to the parking areas and the indoor arena. Clinicians will be directed to other areas of the farm for each activity. The covered arena at Trealy Farm is a recently-constructed, state-of-the-art venue with viewing gallery. The Pavilion, a separate building, will be used for some meetings. Safe stabling and quality turn-out is available for all participating horses. The owners of Trealy Farm provide a superb facility to support and enhance the learning experience. It is also a beautiful environment for quiet contemplation.

Trealy Farm offers some accommodation (contact Ruth Tudor) and there are local B&Bs.

Wi-Fi & Mobile Phones

Trealy Farm has wi-fi and mobile phones mostly get signal (Three and EE are very good, Vodafone is OK. The least good is 02 but it still gets some signal).

Where can I get Peggy's books and equipment?

There are a few of Peggy's books for sale at the clinic - cash only. If you seek additional materials, contact Trudy Affleck (trudyaffleck@gmail.com) who maybe able to source your Connected Riding® products.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?

Please email katherine@mane-eventing.com or call +44-780-3720501. Note that mobile-phone signal is intermittent so you may have to wait a while for a response (leave a message). Do not leave your call until demo / clinic days where it maybe difficult to make contact. Clinic questions should all be addressed to Katherine. Ruth Tudor is the owner of Trealy Farm. Questions relating to the venue should be address to Ruth.
