The Russian and East European Studies Programme of Oxford University’s School of Global and Area Studies will be holding a multidisciplinary conference, “Connecting Central Asia in the 21st Century”.

The conference will be held at St Antony’s College, Oxford, on April 25th- 26th 2019.

Through panel discussion, roundtable talks, debate, and academic presentation, we will explore pressing topics such as:

· Climate change mitigation and resource management in Central Asia

· Foreign relations of Central Asian states with Russia and China

· How Central Asia’s past informs (or does not inform) its present and future

· Central Asia’s vision for itself in a 21st century global context

· Comparative area studies approaches to contemporary Central Asia
