Kelly Holliday shares her experiences of managing Alzheimer’s UK’s relationships with people who fundraise for the charity.

About this Event

Larger organisations, universities and businesses have always seen managing relations with funders – known as stewardship – to be a key element of their business plan. With this wealth of new volunteers engaged in community activities, it is a great time for organisations of all sizes to develop these long-term relationships. Kelly will be talking through what stewardship is and how it can be applied to grow your fundraising.

Kelly Holliday is the Sporting Events Manager at Alzheimer's Research UK. She has been in this role for over four years and in that time was the stewardship lead on the 'Dementia Revolution' campaign. She developed the understanding and skills to strengthen the relationships between the charity and its donors.

ARUK is the fastest growing medical research charity in the UK, and its donors and fundraisers are vital to the charity’s work. One event which brings in a significant amount of money is the London Marathon. Kelly worked on this partnership within her time at ARUK where she brought in over £4 million and recruited 1,000 volunteers. Along with her extensive knowledge of how large-scale charities work, Kelly has also worked and volunteered at Hunts Forum. Here, she had an opportunity to see how a smaller charity operates, the pressures that fundraising and volunteer management have on the organisation and how smaller-scale organisations and community groups could learn from how the large-scale charities work.
