Who is this workshop for?

This training is for anyone within a community group or charity looking to encourage more people to get involved with their work.

What will you learn?

Attracting and recruiting supporters to your organisation is never easy. This in-person training, looks at ways to make your organisation more effective in recruiting supporters and followers.

We are running the same training at two venues on 15th June (March and Huntingdon) to enable people to choose the venue most convenient for them. This workshop is taking place in March.

At each session, there will also be the opportunity to network over a light lunch with other community groups and members of the Support Cambridgeshire team.

Training Outcomes:

A better understanding of how to identify potential supporters
A clearer knowledge of how to engage and motivate people
Networking opportunities

This course will be delivered by members of the CCVS development team a partner in the Support Cambridgeshire project

The workshop team includes:

Sally Page CCVS development worker - has been working and volunteering within the heritage and charity sectors for over ten years; seeing her teach history onboard a warship, run family art workshops in Canada, and provide heritage funding advice across the East of England.

Sally has most recently worked as a Volunteer Coordinator for an NHS fundraising charity and as a Development Officer for the National Lottery Heritage Fund. She loves to volunteer in her spare time and is currently a trustee for Museum of Cambridge and a volunteer helper with her local Rainbow unit.

Chris Trevorrow CCVS senior development worker - spent her early career working in marketing communications before moving on to spend the last 17 years in the voluntary sector to work in grant assessment with the National Lottery Community Fund; as a community and workplace mediator and the casework manager for a community mediation charity and development worker and trainer for a volunteer centre. Chris is a CTLLS accredited trainer. Chris volunteers as a befriender for Age UK and in her local community.
