The ‘Connecting the Dots’ virtual conference will showcase a range of innovative, psychologically-informed services that our partner organisations are delivering with support from Changing Minds, and will explore the challenges and opportunities in providing services that strive to be truly psychologically-informed, trauma-responsive and meaningfully helpful.
The conference will hopefully be of interest to parents/carers, commissioners, strategic managers, and practitioners across health, social care, education, 3rd sector and criminal justice settings – effectively all those working to support children, young people and families.

Senior leaders and practitioners from various services across health, education and social care will share their experiences and learning as they incorporate systemic psychological thinking and trauma-responsive practice into their organisations. There will also be consideration of how we can measure meaningful outcomes when working with young people in systems that are trying to address a complex range of social, educational, developmental, emotional and mental health needs.
The conference will also introduce our CAFS CARE wellbeing framework, which explores how we can strengthen connection, reflection and look after each other when working with young people, families and organisations who may be dealing with the impact of high levels of distress and trauma. We will hear from young people and carers about how we can ensure meaningful stakeholder involvement in service development. We will finish the day with a panel discussion where the themes from the day will be discussed and debated, drawing out ideas for how we can best promote creative psychological practice within systems for the future benefit of children, families and the people and organisations who support them.
