About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

You may be aware that Sport England wish to expand their successful place-based partnership work here in Cornwall. We convened an event on 20th May in St Erme to understand more about this opportunity and start connecting resources and ambition across sectors to tackle inactivity and associated inequalities. See more at https://www.activecornwall.org/working-in-place/ where films of the event will be available soon.

We now need to work together as a collective of local partners to generate real, sustainable change, initially in the agreed places of Penzance and St Austell. As the ‘glue and compass’ for this, we’re now convening events in each of these locations.

This is very much about leading change locally, collaborating and connecting to do things differently to empower cross-sector community-led change, working alongside local people and partners in St Austell. Co-designing, embedding and growing what works well for those experiencing the greatest inequalities (and learning from what doesn’t work so well), to collectively create the conditions leading to lasting place-based change for those who need us most in our local communities.

We hope you can join us to ‘explore the art of the possible’ through this exciting opportunity.

Refreshments will be provided!

Please note, places are limited so invitees have been carefully selected. If you’re unable to attend and/or wish to nominate someone else to attend, please let us know rather than forwarding the invite direct.

Our vision is for a Cornwall where inequalities are no longer a barrier to an active life.

In partnership we champion the benefits of physical activity, prioritising support to those needing the most help to move more and live well for longer, in places experiencing the greatest inequalities. Commissioning and building capacity for wellbeing and movement, engaging with communities and delivering national initiatives locally, we influence change at scale delivering sustainable impact.
