Step into 60 acres of ancient woodland at Frylands and rediscover calm beside a roaring campfire. Surrounded by birdsong and the possibility of deer or foxes crossing your path, Heartwood offers a private, secluded plot where nature holds space for you to breathe deeply and reconnect.

Guided by Lisa (psychotherapist), Bev (creative therapist), and Neil (mental health expert), this retreat invites you to pause, reflect, and explore life’s pressures — from work and relationships to health and identity. Through nature-based practices, creative exploration, and seasonal connection, you’ll be supported to identify where you are, where you’d like to be, and what might be holding you back.

Expect grounding rituals, gentle conversation, and introductions to mediation. This is a welcoming space to be fully yourself — no pressure, just presence, everything is an invitation.

Hot and cold drinks, and snacks will be available around the campfire.

Who are we?

Nuthatch Retreats was the vision of our founder, Neil Peters. Neil has been working in suicide prevention as a programme manager and a freelancer project lead for over 10 years - his day job is to deliver suicide prevention projects as part of Nuthatch Consultants. He previously worked at suicide prevention charity Samaritans.

Neil has a growing interest in the power of nature to support wellbeing, has felt called to develop this vision further by launching Nuthatch Retreats. He wants to introduce people to basic activities and techniques to support their wellbeing through nature.

As Nuthatch Retreats begins its journey, Neil is supported by partners and volunteers who support his vision.

If you are unable to attend one of our events due to Covid, we will refund your ticket upto 48hrs before the event.
