Connecting with Life at Papworth Hospital
Sun 26 March 2017, 14:00 – 16:00 BST
As part of the fantastic Cambridge Science Festival this year, we invite you to get up close and personal with a range of exciting activities that are saving people’s lives at Papworth Hospital.
We want you to delve into a world full of discovery, whether it be:
- practicing CPR and using cutting-edge specialist respiratory equipment to analyse how you’re breathing
- identifying certain receptors in tissue samples through microscopes
- or taking part in cardiac surgery in our ‘operating theatre’
Visit us at the UTC (first floor) from 10.30am - 4pm. Cardiac surgery bookings are recommended between 2pm - 4pm (see below).
Book onto your 'Cardiac Surgery' experience
Try your hand at cardiac surgery with Papworth Hospital. Join our own surgical staff in the ‘operating theatre’ and learn what it feels like to be part of the team, all working together to save your patients’ life.
Get gowned and gloved, and enjoy this immersive experience.
Two one-hour sessions are available at 2 - 3pm and 3 - 4pm. Please indicate which session you would like to book.
Please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before the beginning of the session.
Note: Recommended age for the event is 12+ (younger participants may have to observe).
