Connecting with the Forest closely and creatively
Get ready to experience the Forest from a different perspective, treat your senses to a creative experience in by where you can tease out your creativity and play with the term ‘art’.
This guided event will be led by former illustrator Julie Walton-Evans, who now works as part of the communications team in the Forest. During your morning, be open to any possibilities and really allow yourself to experiment with expressing yourself within nature. Let the Forest become your muse and unleash your inner artist. You will be emersed in the semi ancient woodland of Alne wood, in a truly magical and inspiring spot. The area is the perfect spot for you to lose yourself and escape the distractions of day-to-day life, while creating something truly beautiful.
Please don’t expect a sit-down art lesson in by which you will leave with a new discipline, in fact you will leave something much more personal, you will leave with a deeper connection to the Forest and a piece of artwork you have created that is special and unique to you. This event is ideal for a complete beginner to novice, perhaps someone who has always been curious about creativity, or someone who merely says, ‘I’d love to be able to draw, but I am not arty’.
You will be provided with art materials and be able to take all pieces of art home with you. Although there is minimal walking, we recommend sturdy footwear as we will be moving into the Forest. Although it is due to be warm, please be mindful that sitting for a while you may begin to feel cooler.
Feel free to bring drink and snacks – please take any rubbish/ litter home with you. Due to the nature of this event - dogs are not permitted.
By registering for this event you are agreeing to us contacting you by email or phone to advise you of any further event information, changes to the event or post-event feedback. The Heart of England Forest events terms can be found here and the privacy policy here.
