It's time for the Summer ConnectingHR Tweetup!
This summer we are partnering up with our friends at www.stopdoingdumbthingstocustomers.com and tagging our evening tweetup onto their latest event which will be held at The Spring during the day. We have chosen the spring as opposed to our usual London pub venue this time because there is a chance that, due to impending planning decisions, The Spring may not be with us for much longer.
Some of you may know we have held some inspirational unconferences there over the past two years and we will be sad to see it go. So if, like us you have been there before and would like to experience it one more time then please do join us. If you havent been there before, well just come along anyway - you won't regret it!
The event is open to all those in working across the HR spectrum including Engagement, Employee Relations, Recruitment, L&D, OD, Reward and Internal Communications.
The event is designed as an informal networking and sharing opportunity. We sometimes include a few short 'open mic' sessions and announcements during the evening to give the attendees a chance to ask questions and share their experiences.
WHAT IS CONNECTINGHR?
We are the social community for HR professionals and anyone interested in people in organisations, especially those interested in challenging conventions and the status quo around the management of people. We meet every few months for an informal 'tweetup' such as this one - see below - and we also run an annual unconference.
For those of you already using twitter you can catch up on the conversation by reviewing the hashtag stream at #ConnectingHR. You can also find out more about the ConnectingHR by visiting our online community www.connectingHR.org. Please do join us there!
WHAT IS A TWEETUP?
A tweetup is an informal gathering of people who have come together via social media, in this case predominantly on twitter. However, the ultimate aim is to bring likeminded people together in an informal, friendly and conversational manner over a glass of wine or two! Or real ale if that is your preference!
But dont let the mention of "social media" put you off! Many attendees are not yet active on twitter or other social channels but attend anyway as they benefit from being part of the community.
Our previous tweet-ups have been very well received with some 60+ attendees from organisations including Betfair, Pizza Express, Sega, BSkyB, Lexis PR, Leonard Cheshire, BT, Symantec, Talis, Thomson Reuters, Financial Times, Revlon, G4S plc, Mayborn Group, Informa, CM Murray, Burger King, Experian Plc, Aviva, The Telegraph, Yell Adworks, Betfair, BAE Systems, Chevron, easyJet, Ipsos MORI, HMV group and London Overground to name but a few!
The CIPD have also attended as have most of the major HR journalists and websites including Personnel Today, XpertHR, HRZone and Changeboard.
