Event description

Description

Open Box Education Centre in Epping is a not for profit alternative provision independent school for Key Stage 4 students that utilises a trauma informed approach. We provide full time education in a small and nurturing learning environment for students who have had difficult life and school experiences. Our approach puts the power of caring relationships between staff and students at its core.

In order to share our approach and practice with the local community, we are a hosting a training workshop, led by Clare Williams, senior consultant and trainer with Trauma Informed Schools UK (TISUK).

This workshop is designed to empower school staff and child-serving professionals to understand the needs of children and teenagers who have experienced trauma or have a mental health issue. Delegates will learn to respond to and understand trauma triggered behaviour. You will also learn what happens in Trauma and Mental Health Informed schools in terms of key relational approaches and interventions to positively impact the whole school culture.

There will be networking opportunities while we serve a hot brunch and plenty of tea and coffee!
