Description

'We've never been more connected, yet we've never been more disconnected' (Anon)

This session will explore the notion of being connected and the impact of connections on learning. Research shows that the more connected learners feel to their peers and staff, the better their emotional, mental, social and physical wellbeing gets. This in turn leads to better engagement in learning.

'Every kid is one caring adult from being a success story' (Josh Shipp, 2015)

Over the course of the day staff will explore and discuss their own strategies for building connections, both with learners and between learners. We will also examine current pedagogical research relating to Health & Wellbeing from a practitioner perspective and look into what that actually means for teachers in the classroom.

The overall aim of the day is to provide participants with practical examples and strategies and give them the confidence to take them back into the classroom.
