About this event

CONNECTIONS is a new series of talks created by NHEHS, that aims to bring together our wider community to hear from inspiring speakers and have an opportunity to connect.

Baroness Patience Wheatcroft spent most of her career as a journalist, writing first about business for several national newspapers and launching a specialist trade paper, ‘Retail Week’. For nine years she was Business and City Editor of The Times, where she also wrote a weekly column on broader social and political issues. She left there to become editor of The Sunday Telegraph and then Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe.

On becoming a life peer in 2011 she left full-time journalism. She now sits as a Crossbencher.

She recently stepped down from the boards of St James’s Place and Fiat Chrysler and now chairs the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions and the Oversight Committee of the Financial Times. She was a trustee of the British Museum from 2010 to 2018 and deputy chairman from 2014 to 2018.
