Connective Parenting using the principles of NVR for Parents & Carers

1st Session 10th February 2026, 2nd Session 17th February 2025 10am - 2pm.

This connective parenting course is delivered by AUK trainers who have lived experience of adoption, fostering and kinship care. It is aimed at adoptive parents and is structured around the principles of Non Violent Resistance to enable parents to parent their child/ren through the development of strong connective relationships and to manage difficult behaviours including child to parent violence. The course is practical in nature, taking attendees through the key elements of the NVR map (not sit-ins or announcements) and providing suggested strategies for parents/carers to implement in the home.

This course is also appropriate for prospective adopters and foster or kinship carers
