Conor Deasy: Conservator at the Royal Collections Trust.
The Army & Navy Club, 36 Pall Mall, London SW1Y 5JN.
Tuesday 18th November at 10.30am.
It is always good to combine with our Friends from the Kensington & Chelsea Women’s Club and this November we join them for a talk with Conor Deasy, a furniture restorer with the Royal Collection Trust. Conor is based in the workshops at Marlborough House along with gilders, metal work restorers and picture restorers who are all part of a team that conserves the furniture and decorative arts in the Royal Collection. Conor will talk to the group about the Royal residences and how some of the interiors have evolved and how the conservation workshop functions.
Conor hails from Ireland where he trained in furniture conservation and restoration before moving to the UK. He worked for two years as an on-site conservator at Buckingham Palace before moving to Marlborough House. He has a BA Hons in History and a Diploma in Art and Decorative Arts History and is a member of the British Antique Furniture Restorers’ Association.
