This is a free short online update delivered by THT Norfolk for all practitioners promoting sexual health in Norfolk.
Aim:
To provide an overview of the concepts of consent and confidentiality in relation to working with under 16s when providing sexual health information and support.
Outcomes:
By the end of the session you will:
• Have gained an overview of what consent and confidentiality are in the sexual health arena, and how they work to protect the interests and rights of under 16s.
•Reviewed the Fraser Guidance and capacity to consent sex and medical treatments
•Have been introduced to some of the key elements of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 that relate to consent and young people
• Have considered your role in the safeguarding of those with whom you work, and the limitations to confidentiality you can offer them
• Be more confident in talking with under 16s about consent in their sexual relationships. and about their sexual health rights
