Consent

Obtaining informed and valid consent is a fundamental principle of medicine.

To make a robust response to medico-legal challenge, it is vital doctors seeking consent can show they have considered the key requirements, including patients with diminished capacity.

This session uses real MDDUS case studies to explore key principles, aspects of ethics and relevant regulatory guidance and the law.

The evening is supported by the BMA locally and staff will be on hand to participate in a Q&A at the end.

Join us on 22 March to chat these isues through with an MDDUS Adviser, starting with a catch up with colleagues over a bit to eat courtesy of the BMA from 5.15pm. The talk will start ay 5.45pm, and will last approximatey 1 hour. Please do register to allow us to order the correct amount of curry! It will only take a minute or two.

Certificates of attendance for your eportfolio/appriasal folder will be issued by email after the event.

If you have any questions at all, please contact the organiser, Kathleen Hiddleston, on 07408803811 or khiddleston@bma.org.uk
