Event description
BME led Sexual health session exploring consent, boundaries, the law and where to seek support.

About this event

NAZ is providing Sexual Reproductive Health Training to BAME women in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham (LSL) area.

The training seeks to empower women through choices they make regarding sexual and reproductive wellbeing and to know rights in clinical settings.

Data published by Public Health England in 2018 showed that the highest population rates of STI diagnoses are among BME people (PHE, 2018).

NAZ has 29 years of experience working across London to provide culturally specific interventions to BAME communities disproportionately impacted by poor sexual, reproductive and HIV outcomes.

In this online session we will:

  • Identify what consent means and the different types of consent
  • Explain what counts as sex or sexual activity
  • Summarise the law relating to sexual assualt and sexual offences
  • Identify sexual violence, rape and where to get support.

This service is free for people living, working or studying Lewisham, Southwark and Lambeth. Professionals, Residents and Communities welcome.

Dates:

  • 10th of May, 10:30am
  • 26th of July, 10:30am

If you are part of an organisation team or community supporting women in the Lambeth Southwark and Lewisham area, and want more information or training on various sexual health and reproductive topics. NAZ can provide training for you. Email imale@naz.org.uk for more information on how we can support you and your LSL based clients/service users.
