Delegates will learn about the important role of a conservation area survey, and how it can be used to underpin management priorities at a local level. They will learn how to compare the survey data to highlight negative trends, and be introduced to tools to manage these. Where relevant, we will signpost delegates to Historic England guidance on managing issues that contribute to conservation area decline.

1140 Case study: successful and &/or innovative approach to proactively managing change in a conservation area
1315 Heritage & regeneration (to raise locally relevant solutions such as funding, BIDs)
1330 Introduction to the site visit & exercise
1340 Visit nearby conservation area to use the survey to odentify risk & possible management solutions in groups
1500 Discussion in groups
1530 Feedback from each group on the management priorities for the area

Booking is essential for all courses as places are limited. Please note that we are initially only able to allocate 2 places per organisation.
Please note, these training events are provided free of charge by Historic England, and places are at a premium. You can send a replacement or notify us by e mail if you book and then can’t attend. Non-attendance will incur a fee of £150 unless you contact us at least 5 days in advance.
Please also be aware photography or filming may take place at events for promotional use.
