About this event

Join the Ranger Service to take part in some practical conservation tasks throughout the county. For this session we will be based at Black Moss, in the south-west of Armadale. For this session we will be planting a new hedgerow, to create a natural barrier and close off an area that was being used my forestry machinery to undertake the felling works in the park last year. We will be planting a variety of native species such as hawthorn, green beech, and blackthorn, which will create a protectiv ebarrier as well as provide new habitat and food source for birds and small mammals.

All tools and a full tool safety talk will be provided by the Ranger. Please wear appopriate clothing (waterproof and windproof clothing, wellies or sturdy waterproof boots), and bring along a drink and maybe a small snack to keep you going.

This session will run for two hours from 10:00am, and the meeting place is at the north west entrance to Blackmoss Nature Park, What3Wors location: expectant.dice.foresight. (EH48 3HG).
